Pensacola Multihull Regatta Returns in May 2026

From May 15 to 17, 2026, the sailing community will once again gather in Pensacola Yacht Club for a multihull regatta that continues to build momentum year after year.

Organised by local sailing authorities including Pensacola Yacht Club, Gulf Yachting Association and Windcraft Multihulls, the event is part of a broader effort to re-establish Pensacola as a key destination for multihull sailing in the United States.

Following a successful edition in 2025, the 2026 regatta is expected to attract a diverse fleet, ranging from performance racing multihulls to cruising boats and beach cats.

A Natural Playground for Multihulls

Pensacola offers a rare combination of protected bay sailing and open Gulf conditions. Courses are expected to include both distance racing and inshore formats, depending on weather conditions.

This variety is part of what makes the regatta appealing to a wide range of sailors, from experienced offshore crews to those looking to enjoy competitive but accessible racing.

Open to the Multihull Community

The regatta is open to all multihull sailboats, with classes typically including:

PHRF racing and cruising divisions

Portsmouth-rated beach cats and smaller multihulls

Open class groupings depending on fleet composition

Mark your calendar, prep your trimaran, and get ready for three days of championship racing on the legendary waters of San Francisco Bay. Join the racing fleet or cruise alongside – all sailors welcome to experience, spectate, and celebrate trimaran excellence.

A Championship in Iconic Waters

From July 17 to 19, 2026, the Corsair fleet will gather on San Francisco Bay for the 2026 Corsair National Championship.

This premier event is proudly sponsored by Corsair Marine International, hosted by Encinal Yacht Club, and organised by the Bay Area Multihull Association. Together, these partners bring one of the most active trimaran communities in the world to one of sailing’s most iconic venues.

San Francisco Bay is renowned for its steady summer breeze, strong tidal currents and tactical racecourses across the South and Central Bay. It is a venue that rewards preparation, precision and confident helming.

Racing Format and Eligibility

The three day program will include a long distance race and multiple buoy races sailed in classic July Bay conditions.

Separate classes will be offered, including a dedicated Corsair Class for Corsair built and legacy Farrier designed trimarans, alongside an Open Class for other eligible multihulls. Championship honours and series prizes will be awarded accordingly.

The Corsair National Championship represents more than competitive racing. It is a gathering of owners, sailors and enthusiasts who share a commitment to efficient design, lightweight construction and purposeful performance.

From long standing Farrier designed trimarans to the latest generation Corsair models, the fleet reflects decades of development focused on sailing efficiency and real world capability.

The Current Corsair Lineup

While the championship welcomes eligible Corsair and Farrier designed trimarans across the fleet, today’s Corsair range continues to evolve that performance heritage.
